BEING AN INTERNATIONAL STUDENT IN USA

  1. Linxi said there are few schools which offer the major she wants and it`s hard to enter these school in China. She thinks American schools have more opportunity to practise
Since there is suitable enviroment for creativity and team for which caught Krishna`s interest very much, she prefered America especially for these and she would like to get her degree from there.
Arata wanted to study in foreign countries.
  2. In China there are programmes which find proper schools and provide the information for students wanting to study in abroad.
Krishna consulted her godfather who is in USA and via one his friends` recommendation, she decided to study in America.
  3. In Arata`s homecountry, they need to take an entrance exam and before this exam, they have to choose their major which they can`t change later.
Homecountry of Krishna has a strict, straightforward education system but America hasn`t. It`s more flexible. In America she can not only study but also a lot of things for her degree.
Linxi likes there because of its enviroment. The place she lives is like a quiet, small town. She especially likes there in spring.
Arata likes its class lines which are easy to communicate.
  4. The tuition is around 30.000 or 40.000 dollars. But this price changes in respect of boarding, fees they have to pay and the department they choose etc.
  5. Linxi said thanks to studying in America, she knew there better. There are drying machines which don`t exist in China.
Arata likes American people`s way of talking. They are more relaxed unlike his country.
Krishna experinced a lot of things and created a new goal in her life.
  6. Like every international students, they also experienced culture shock of course.
What about me? Hmmm... Of course i want to study in abroad. It doesn`t matter USA, UK, UAE, Germany etc. I really would like to know new cultures, people, cuisines and languages. I`ll certainly experience some hardhips during this process but no problem ;)

BEING A METU STUDENT

I have wanted to be a Metu student since childhood. After overcoming a hard year, this dream came true. When i entered to campus for registration process for the first time, i disappointed because it was very hard and complicated process and nobody was willing to help us. After this registration stuff, my metu life officially started. I settled down my dormitory which is quite nice and warm. But this time i saw some student`s unpleasant behaviours such as polluting everywhere. I expected that a metu student should be not only intelligent but also sensitive to his/her environment.
Compared the most of students, actually i`m lucky. I didn`t feel lonely here because i entered the same university with one of my best friends whom i have known since kindergarden. We were also in same class in high school. She is my biggest luck in Metu, thanks to each other we overcame a lot of things together.
Unlike the high school, university courses are very hard for me. Even though we`re in the first year in our university life , teachers have great expectations from us. They give us a lot of assignments which we aren`t used to do and they aren`t tolerant as much as our high school teachers. While trying to adapt a new life, these hardships disappointed me at first. But if i chose Metu to spend successful and meaningful years, i should put up with these, of course. Because Metu isn`t a joke.
Apart from some negative sides, actually i`m proud of being a metu student. Metu is a prestigious university where i can improve myself in academical, social, intellectual etc. ways. Its working and life enviroments are really suitable for these aims. I want to be one of best in my field and i hope i can achieve this thanks to Metu. I want to assess my every day in a good way in this university.
